Morning Glory | Ipomoea violacea | 10 grams
Ipomoea violacea, commonly known as Morning Glory, is a vigorous tropical climbing plant originating from Mexico and Central America. It is particularly recognisable for its striking funnel-shaped flowers, which range from bright blue and violet to deep purple. The blooms typically open during the morning and gradually close later in the day.
Thanks to its rapid growth and colourful flowers, Morning Glory is widely appreciated as an ornamental climbing plant. It can be trained along garden fences, trellises, pergolas and other suitable supports, creating attractive seasonal displays.
Contents
This pack contains 10 g of Ipomoea violacea seeds, supplied for ornamental cultivation.
Growing Morning Glory
Morning Glory prefers warm temperatures, plenty of sunlight and well-drained growing conditions. For improved germination, the seeds can be soaked in water overnight before sowing.
Plant the seeds in fertile, well-draining soil and place them in a sheltered location with good exposure to sunlight. Keep the growing medium evenly moist without allowing it to become waterlogged.
Once established, Ipomoea violacea develops rapidly and can climb several metres during a favourable growing season. Providing a trellis, fence, pergola or another sturdy support will allow the vines to grow naturally and display their flowers effectively.
